This accreditation places Elche in a select group of localities that promote research, development, and innovation as key tools to improve the quality of life for citizens.

With this designation, the municipality becomes part of the Network of Cities of Science and Innovation, known as Red Innpulso, a forum that brings together cities across Spain committed to urban transformation through innovation.

Among the main advantages of this incorporation are access to new funding opportunities, specialized training programs, and collaborative projects with other municipalities. Additionally, Elche will be able to participate in initiatives linked to innovative public procurement and the development of urban laboratories.

The candidacy presented by the Elche City Council has highlighted a municipal strategy focused on the digitalization of public services, the promotion of digital transformation projects, urban sustainability, and economic development.

Collaboration with the academic and scientific environment has also been emphasized, as well as the role of the Elche Business Park as an economic and innovation driver.
