The incident, which caused no injuries, mobilized personnel from the Alicante Provincial Fire Consortium and the Santa Pola Local Police to secure the area and inspect the condition of the property.

As a precautionary measure, residents of the adjacent building have been evacuated while the structure of the affected building is being inspected. The hostel had been closed and inactive for over ten years.
