The Torrevieja City Council will launch an assistance ambulance service at its weekly market this Friday, April 24, aiming to enhance safety and improve healthcare in one of the city's most frequented areas.

This measure will allow for immediate attention in case of incidents and facilitate transfers to health centers when necessary. The initiative responds to the high volume of merchants, workers, and visitors who attend the market every week, especially during peak periods.
According to the council, the concentration of people and climatic conditions can cause health incidents, mostly minor, such as dizziness, hypotension, trauma, or heatstroke. Therefore, it has been deemed necessary to incorporate a preventive resource that facilitates rapid intervention within the premises and avoids unnecessary trips to health centers.
The Type B assistance ambulance, corresponding to Basic Life Support (BLS), will be operational every Friday, or on the day the market is held if there are any changes due to weather conditions. The service will operate from 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM in the Antonio Soria Park enclosure.
The initiative is being launched with the collaboration of the Public Health, Markets, and Security and Emergencies departments, with the aim of offering a quick and effective response to any health incident that may occur during the commercial day.
With this action, the Torrevieja City Council strengthens the security of the weekly market and improves the services provided to both citizens and visitors, in an enclave that concentrates significant commercial and social activity every Friday.
