The Torrevieja government has firmly responded to accusations from the Socialist Party regarding the management of the cleaning service, defending the legality of the "Cuida Torrevieja" UTE and accusing the opposition of political manipulation.
The Councilor for Urban Cleaning of the Torrevieja City Council has criticized the statements of the spokesperson for the Socialist Municipal Group, pointing out that she is engaged in manipulation and demagoguery. The Government Team considers it unacceptable for the PSOE to question a legal entity such as a temporary business union, which demonstrates either a lack of knowledge of the Public Sector Contracts Law or a deliberate intention to confuse citizens.

"The PSOE intends for this City Council to act outside the law to fuel its political narrative. And that will not happen, as this City Council chooses legal certainty, responsibility, and the general interest over partisan whims."
Economically, the local government accuses the PSOE of crudely distorting data by comparing figures from over a decade ago with Torrevieja's current reality. The councilor clarified that, although the current cost is around 24-25 million compared to the previous 16-17 million, the city has grown, labor costs have increased by law, and environmental demands are very different.
Furthermore, the councilor described the statements about the brown container as serious, indicating that claiming non-compliance when the service has been adapted to the new Law 7/2022 is simply untrue. The technical update will allow for a more efficient system, with a lower percentage of improper waste and greater capacity, also avoiding duplicated costs in the future.
Regarding Green Zones, the government is equally emphatic, recalling that the opposition left expired contracts and services on the verge of collapse. This government has promoted the largest investment in urban maintenance in history, with over 111 million euros allocated to improving the city.

"Torrevieja needs political stature, responsibility, and proposals. What it does not need is a PSOE entrenched in simple populism, sterile confrontation, and permanent lies."
