The Torrevieja City Council has presented the program for this celebration, which will take place from April 24 to 26. The main objective is to encourage participation and bring dance closer to all citizens, with proposals aimed at all audiences.
The activities, organized by the Municipal Institute of Culture and the Municipal Academic Dance School, include training workshops in contemporary and Spanish dance. These workshops will be held at the Virgen del Carmen Cultural Center and are designed for students aged nine and older, taught by professionals such as Eva Mora and María Cabrera.
One of the most anticipated events is the traditional street dance marathon, which will be held on Sunday, April 26, at the Natural Pools of the Juan Aparicio Promenade. Fourteen academies from Torrevieja will participate in this marathon. As a novelty, this year a massive ballet barre open to the public will be added, an initiative that has been very well received by the participating academies.
“"We have prepared a series of performances, activities, and workshops for all ages, with the aim of bringing dance to all citizens and achieving the greatest possible participation."
The program also includes a performance by the Spanish Ballet of Murcia, directed by Carmen and Matilde Rubio, which will take place on Saturday, April 25, at 8:30 PM at the Municipal Theater. The marathon day will begin with the reading of the International Dance Day manifesto, reinforcing the commemorative nature of the event.
The Culture department emphasizes the importance of these initiatives to make visible the work of local academies and encourage citizen participation in the cultural life of the municipality. The City Council assures that this celebration is consolidating itself as one of the most participatory cultural events on the local calendar.
