The first agreement will focus on approving the execution project for Phase 2 of the Eras de la Sal. This phase has an estimated investment of 10,485,452 euros (VAT included) and an execution period of 24 months. It will include the renovation of Salero Street, the construction of a new open-air auditorium for the Habaneras, and the comprehensive recovery of the old shipyard of Marina Internacional.
The second agreement will initiate the contracting process for the museography service for the future Museum of the Sea of Torrevieja. The objective is to equip the space with exhibition content and interpretive resources.
The most notable development will be the construction of a new seaside auditorium, designed to host the International Habaneras and Polyphony Contest, and which will also accommodate concerts and major cultural events throughout the year. The venue will be integrated into the topography of the old shipyard, preserving elements like the historic boat ramp. The stands, with a total capacity of 1,502 seats, will open towards the bay and function as a viewpoint. Underneath the stands, dressing rooms, artist changing rooms, storage areas, public restrooms, and multipurpose classrooms will be provided.
The intervention also includes an urban transformation of the new Paseo de la Sal (Salt Promenade), creating a continuous pedestrian connection between the Paseo de Vista Alegre, Salero Street, the pier, and the old shipyard. This promenade will have two levels and will link to Faleria Avenue via a large garden.
The overall design aims to be a tribute to the salt workers of Torrevieja and their historical relationship with the sea and the salt industry.
In parallel, the contracting of the museography service for the Museum of the Sea will be activated, with a tender price of 55,296 euros (VAT included) for the drafting of the basic and execution project, lasting five months. This contract will define the content and exhibition elements of the future museum, conceived as a modern and interactive space.
The comprehensive recovery of the area will form a cultural complex comprising the Museum of the Sea, the Salt Salinas Administration House, the Eras de la Sal Gantry, the new Paseo de la Sal, and the future Maritime Amphitheater, with the aim of reinforcing Torrevieja's historical identity and consolidating it as a year-round cultural and tourist reference.
