“"This is not just about a necessary May Day event, but about what we build together every day in our town. We continue to work with closeness, responsibility, and town pride, advancing along this path of growth and progress that is making Los Montesinos a better place to live every day, without forgetting where we come from and the path we have traveled together."

The PSOE of Los Montesinos celebrated May Day with a massive event at the Civic and Social Center, where the trajectory of two historical local socialist figures was recognized.
The event, which took place on May 1st, gathered over a hundred residents, exceeding initial expectations and filling the venue. The day was marked by participation, recognition, and the reaffirmation of socialist values.
The event was led by a councilwoman from the Los Montesinos City Council and featured speeches by the general secretary of the PSOE of Los Montesinos and regional deputy in Les Corts, as well as the mayor of the municipality. The latter was responsible for presenting commemorative plaques to the honored individuals, in one of the most significant moments of the celebration.
During the day, which was experienced in an atmosphere charged with energy and commitment, the social and economic progress achieved in recent years in both Spain and the municipality was highlighted. Milestones such as record employment, with over 22.5 million people affiliated with Social Security in Spain, and the lowest unemployment figures in the last 20 years in Los Montesinos, were emphasized.
Furthermore, the record number of women working, a minimum wage that will reach €1,221 by 2026, the revaluation of pensions to guarantee the dignity of older people, labor reforms that have brought more stability and rights, solid economic growth, and the promotion of the Minimum Living Income to protect the most vulnerable households were underscored.
One of the most prominent and emotional moments of the event was the tribute to two local socialist figures, who have dedicated their careers to defending the values of equality, solidarity, and justice in the municipality. Both received the affection and recognition of the attendees in an act that highlighted the memory and commitment of those who have contributed to the social progress of the town.
The Socialist Group emphasized that this May Day has been “a day of memory, struggle, and commitment,” reaffirming the need to continue building a more just municipality, with more rights, opportunities, and prosperity for all.
