The intervention, carried out by the Department of Infrastructure and Maintenance, responds to a demand from residents through participatory budgets, due to the deterioration accumulated from continuous use of the facilities.
The actions have included the comprehensive repair of the built-in barbecues, with cleaning, replacement of deteriorated parts, and structural improvements. Additionally, the old wooden tables have been replaced with new built-in tables, considered more resistant and less vulnerable to vandalism, along with the installation of new urban furniture and waste bins.
The project also involved the removal of old flowerbeds and uneven surfaces that hindered user transit and could cause falls. New paving has been laid to improve accessibility and comfort in the recreational area. Furthermore, deteriorated benches and railings in the surroundings have been addressed.

The local official thanked the municipal action in an area widely used by residents for family gatherings and holidays, highlighting that it is a participatory space highly demanded by the neighborhood.
During the visit, the mayor also highlighted the symbolic value of the San Isidro neighborhood as one of Orihuela's hallmarks and emphasized the surroundings of this recreational area, at the foot of the Sierra de Orihuela and surrounded by murals that turn this neighborhood into an authentic open-air museum.
