The town of Orihuela is preparing to host a unique cultural experience on April 25, under the title «A Romantic Day Inspired by Jane Austen». The event, organized by the fashion store Victoria, aims to combine literature, fashion, crafts, and music in a family-friendly atmosphere that evokes the era of the celebrated British writer.
The day will offer an immersion into the late 18th and early 19th centuries, with activities designed for both the general public and enthusiasts of Regency culture and aesthetics. The program will begin in the morning with an embroidery workshop, which will include an introduction to the life and work of Jane Austen, author of titles such as Sense and Sensibility, Pride and Prejudice, and Emma.
In the afternoon, a floral necklace workshop will be held. Afterwards, an expert on Jane Austen's life will give a talk delving into the trajectory of this writer, who had to pursue her passion discreetly in a male-dominated world. Following this, the focus will shift to Regency era women's fashion, where attendees can learn about the transformations in clothing between 1795 and 1837 and even try on some garments and headpieces.
