Two men die after drowning incidents on Alicante coast

The incidents occurred on Sunday afternoon in Pilar de la Horadada and Torrevieja, where paramedics were unable to revive the victims.

Two men have died this Sunday after being rescued unconscious from the water at two locations on the Alicante coast, specifically in Pilar de la Horadada and Torrevieja.

The first incident was reported at 7:40 PM, when the Information and Coordination Center for Emergencies (CICU) was alerted that several people had pulled an unconscious man from the water at Mil Palmeras beach, in Pilar de la Horadada.
A SAMU unit and a Basic Life Support unit were dispatched to the scene. The SAMU medical team performed advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers and other advanced life support techniques on the 24-year-old swimmer. Despite resuscitation attempts, there was no response, and paramedics confirmed his death.
Also on Sunday afternoon, another man was rescued unconscious from a cove in Torrevieja. A SAMU unit was dispatched to the area, whose medical team also attempted to revive the swimmer.
In this second case, the age of the victim has not been disclosed, and resuscitation maneuvers also yielded no response. Therefore, the healthcare team confirmed the man's death.
