The fire affecting a junkyard near Vega Baja Hospital has been brought under control by firefighters, although extinguishing efforts will continue for the next few hours to prevent flare-ups.

After 24 hours since its inception, the fire that began on Saturday afternoon at a well-known junkyard in the Baix Segura region is now under control. This has been communicated by the Provincial Fire Consortium of Alicante, confirming a favorable evolution of the situation.
Despite this progress, a team consisting of a corporal and three firefighters continues to work in the area. Their presence is crucial to ensure there are no flare-ups, especially due to the proximity of highly flammable materials such as tires and other vehicle components.
The junkyard's proximity to Vega Baja Hospital is a significant risk factor, making the extinguishing and monitoring tasks even more necessary. Work is expected to continue for the next few hours to ensure complete safety in the area.
