The Civil Guard has inaugurated a new citizen service office in Albatera, which opened its doors last Tuesday, April 2, aiming to bring services closer to the municipality's more than 13,000 inhabitants and save them trips to Dolores.

This new facility, located on the second floor of the municipal building 3 de abril, in San Jaime Square in Albatera, will allow residents to file complaints and carry out other procedures requiring in-person attention without having to leave the town. The office will be staffed by agents from the Dolores Main Post.
Operating hours will be from Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM, significantly improving accessibility for Albatera's population, which numbers close to 13,300 inhabitants. The mayor and provincial deputy, Ana Serna, had already announced the opening of these facilities last February.

"The opening of this office represents an important step forward for Albatera, as it brings the Civil Guard and the general State Administration closer to the residents, facilitating procedures that until now required traveling to another municipality."

Manuel Pineda · Sub-delegate of the Government in Alicante
During the inauguration, the sub-delegate of the Government in Alicante, Manuel Pineda, visited the facilities accompanied by Lieutenant Colonel Antonio Darder, Captain Antonio Cava, and councilors from both the Popular Party and the PSOE. Pineda emphasized the commitment of the Government of Spain to ensure more accessible and local public services, especially in municipalities where these improvements have a direct impact on citizens' daily lives.
This opening coincides with the announcement by the Dolores Town Council, which is responsible for the public safety of Albatera, Catral, Daya Vieja, and Daya Nueva, of its intention to cede 466 square meters of municipal land to renovate and expand the existing barracks. This initiative, still in a preliminary phase, seeks to ensure the continuity of the barracks in Dolores, despite Albatera and Catral currently surpassing Dolores in population, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics.
