The Valencian Generalitat has promoted the recovery of rural roads in Vinaròs, affected by the DANA storm, with an investment that guarantees the durability and safety of the routes for the primary sector.

The regional minister of Agriculture, Water, Livestock, and Fisheries has visited Vinaròs to personally inspect the recovery of several rural roads in the municipality. This action is part of a global plan for the improvement and recovery of rural roads affected by the DANA storm, which has allowed interventions on 598 rural roads throughout the Comunitat Valenciana, with a total investment of 30.8 million euros.
In the province of Castellón, 242 actions have been carried out, restoring the functionality of the rural road network in various parts of the province, providing service to agricultural exploitations, homes, and basic services. In the case of Vinaròs, 3,383 linear meters of roads have been recovered in areas of high traffic intensity, including interventions on Camí Canareus, Camí Barbiguera, and the Molinet Este and Oeste roads.

"We are talking about roads that are already in service, that are used and that allow work to be carried out normally. When an infrastructure works, what is guaranteed is that the countryside remains active."

These interventions have included solutions adapted to the characteristics of each section, such as the use of gravel, hot asphalt mix, and concrete in steeper areas, with the aim of guaranteeing the durability and safety of the roads. The regional minister highlighted that the Consell's action responds to a «useful management, focused on solving specific problems and executing works that are in service from day one».
This action is part of the set of investments that the Generalitat is promoting in the province to strengthen the primary sector, with special attention to infrastructure improvement and direct support for farmers and ranchers. The recovery of rural roads is not only a matter of infrastructure but an essential condition for agricultural activity to be maintained and developed normally.
Furthermore, the regional minister also highlighted other complementary actions in the province, such as the rehabilitation of the Sant Jordi irrigation pond, with an investment of 1.47 million euros, which will guarantee supply to 1,500 hectares and 450 communal users. Investments in irrigation modernization and energy efficiency in irrigation communities are also being promoted, as is rural development through LEADER aid, which since 2024 has supported 147 projects in Castellón with an investment of more than 6.3 million euros, including the Ticket Rural program, which has facilitated the launch of 68 new self-employed workers in inland areas.
