The musical event, organized by the Conselleria d'Educació, Cultura i Universitats through the Institut Valencià de Cultura (IVC), will run until July 5th. The program includes eight concerts, combining four featured performances at the Palau de Congressos de Peñíscola with four free concerts in the Plaça de Santa Maria.
Before Michel Camilo's performance, scheduled for 10:30 PM, Albert Bello's quartet will offer a free performance at 7:30 PM in the Plaça de Santa Maria. Michel Camilo, a Dominican pianist, is known for his fusion of jazz harmonies and Caribbean rhythms, and has collaborated with artists like Dissy Gillespie and Paquito D'Rivera.
On Friday, July 3rd, the Plaça de Santa Maria will host at 7:30 PM the performance by Italian artist Franco Baggiani, who will dedicate his quartet to the electric era of Miles Davis. Later, at 10:30 PM in the Palau de Congressos, The International Classic Jazz All Stars will bring together international classic jazz musicians.
On Saturday, July 4th, Sergio Bisbal's BS Community Band will perform at 7:30 PM in the Plaça de Santa Maria, blending traditional jazz with 'soul' and 'funk'. Following this, the Jove big band Sedajazz, comprising 23 young musicians, will take the stage at the Palau de Congressos at 10:30 PM.
On Sunday, July 5th, the festival will conclude with two concerts. At 7:30 PM, the Ernie Orts Jazz Quartet will present a repertoire of original compositions and standards in the Plaça de Santa Maria. Finally, French pianist Thomas Enhco will close the festival at 10:30 PM at the Palau de Congressos with a performance bridging jazz and classical music.
