The Alcalà-Alcossebre City Council has launched the initiative “Viernes de comercio y cultura en Alcalà de Xivert” to boost economic activity and showcase local heritage.

The aim is for both residents and visitors in Alcossebre to discover the commercial and cultural offerings of the Alcalà area. To facilitate this, a free bus service will be available on Fridays throughout July and August. This transport will depart from Alcossebre at 10:00 AM from the stop on Avenida Castelló.
Upon arrival in Alcalà, participants can enjoy the traditional Friday market, featuring food, textile, and shoe stalls, as well as other local shops. As part of the cultural offering, a guided tour of the Casa del Metge is available for 5 euros, and the Church of Sant Joan Baptista and its bell tower can be visited free of charge.
The return trip to Alcossebre is scheduled for 1:30 PM, departing from the bus stop on Calle General Cucala. The Councilor for Economic Promotion, Desa Pitarch, emphasized that this initiative seeks to show that “Alcalà-Alcossebre is more than sun and beach,” encouraging people to explore the municipality's rich architectural heritage.
