The works focused on the N-340A, N-232, and N-238 roads, as well as access points to the AP-7 motorway, a key infrastructure for the northern part of the province of Castellón.
Part of the investment, 6.7 million euros funded by European recovery funds, was allocated to urban integration and pavement rehabilitation along 13 kilometers of roads traversing Vinaròs. Notable additions include the construction of three new roundabouts on the N-340A to manage traffic and a 3.7-kilometer pedestrian and cycle path, separated from the carriageway.
The N-238 road received the largest investment, totaling 12.8 million euros, to improve safety between Vinaròs and the AP-7 junction. The road's platform has been widened, incorporating two lanes, shoulders, and side berms, and existing access points have been reorganized with service roads.
These improvements have also enhanced the connection of the AP-7 with the road network of the Baix Maestrat region, including routes like the N-340 and CV-101, thereby improving access to Alcanar and the local train station.
Once the works are completed, the ownership of these urban roads will be transferred to the Vinaròs City Council, which will assume their maintenance.
This project marks the culmination of one of the most significant road improvement initiatives in the northern part of the province of Castellón, aiming to increase safety and local mobility.
