Caixa Ontinyent has taken a decisive step towards consolidating its responsible banking model. Coinciding with World Environment Day, the Valencian financial institution has publicly presented its 2025 Sustainability Report, an exhaustive transparency document certifying a historic green shift: a drastic 36.9% reduction in its carbon footprint in just one year.
This annual report adapts to new European regulatory frameworks for non-financial information, under the VSME standard. The sole Valencian savings bank has integrated environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) criteria 100% into its strategic decision-making.
Energy efficiency is the organization's spearhead. Beyond the notable decrease in CO₂ emissions, Caixa Ontinyent has consolidated an electricity supply policy based exclusively on 100% renewable energy across its entire office network. These actions are part of a progressive climate action plan aimed at aligning regional financial operations with international decarbonization agreements.
The institution closes the fiscal year with a solid workforce of 192 professionals, structured under gender balance criteria and high contractual stability. During 2025, there were 25 new hires and zero dismissals. Over 95% of the staff received specialized training this year.
Regarding proximity services, Caixa Ontinyent has achieved a 25% reduction in customer complaints thanks to improved customer service. Simultaneously, digital security protocols have been strengthened, and specific measures have been implemented to prevent financial exclusion among the most vulnerable groups.
“"Sustainability, commitment to people, and proximity will continue to be the pillars on which we build the future of the institution, contributing to the economic and social progress of our environment."
The return of profits to society is reflected in an exact investment of 1.4 million euros in its Social Work, funding hundreds of cultural, educational, and social integration activities that have benefited over 160,000 citizens. This ethical management has earned recognition from the Generalitat Valenciana with the 'Valencian Socially Responsible Entity' seal.
The publication of this report comes at a turning point with the approval of the new Strategic Plan 2026-2028. Sustainability is becoming the transversal axis of the entire business, with a direction focused on digital transformation, customer experience excellence, talent retention, and rigorous risk control, consolidating itself as the benchmark bank in the Comunitat Valenciana.
