Urbanization works at the Sanxo Llop industrial park in Gandia have now reached 73% execution, with an investment of over 13 million euros and covering an area of 300,000 square meters.

The mayor of Gandia, José Manuel Prieto, accompanied by the general coordinator of Urbanism, Maite Alonso, municipal technicians, and construction company representatives, visited the urbanization works of the Sanxo Llop industrial park this morning. The execution status of this urban development, considered the city's "most strategic," has now reached 73%.
The main body of works is expected to be completed between September and the end of this year. The City Council anticipates that the sector will be fully finished during 2027, once the work related to electricity supply and other auxiliary services necessary for the establishment of future companies is concluded.
Prieto highlighted the adherence to the agreed-upon deadlines and the project's significance for Gandia's future. "Sanxo Llop is the most strategic urban sector we can develop in recent times," he stated, emphasizing its urban, economic, and social importance. The development will enhance the connection of the city's eastern and southern fronts, in a strategic location near the southern access to the port and the hospital area. The project has successfully resolved a long-standing urban planning issue.
The project, involving an investment of over 13 million euros, covers 300,000 square meters. Key features include over 1,500 parking spaces, 3 kilometers of cycle lanes, 360 lighting fixtures, and around 1,000 trees.
Economically, the works are directly generating 75 jobs, with more to be added from the establishment of companies and facilities, particularly in the socio-health sector, a priority given its proximity to the hospital. Sanxo Llop is set to become a crucial element in the city's strategy to diversify its production model, attracting new businesses and creating high-value employment.
Among the planned initiatives are a future day center for people with functional diversity (4 million euros, project drafting phase), a residence for the elderly and individuals with mental health issues (12 million euros, private investment), and a new hotel (8 million euros, private initiative). The area will also be enhanced by the expansion of Ale-Hop's logistics and innovation project.
Maite Alonso explained that the roads are in an advanced stage, with sidewalks and urban services nearly complete. Water supply, sewage, telecommunications, gas, irrigation, and electrical installations have been executed. Upcoming tasks will focus on road surfacing and connecting electrical lines.
Pending actions include the expansion of the roundabout at the entrance to Gandia, near the Alicante bridge. The works also incorporate a cycle lane along the main avenue, Avenida de la Medicina, which will connect the sector to the existing cycling network, linking to the port's south access, Carrefour, El Grau, Venècia, and Marenys, thereby promoting sustainable mobility and urban connectivity.
