Genaro Rey, an athlete from the Safor Teika Athletics Club, has won a silver medal in the hammer throw (4kg) and achieved fourth place in the heavy hammer at the Ibero-American Masters Athletics Championship held in Lima, Peru.

Genaro Rey competed on Sunday, May 24th, in the hammer throw event and on Monday, May 25th, in the heavy hammer. He ultimately secured the silver medal with a throw of 36 meters in the hammer, and finished fourth in the heavy hammer with 13.13 meters.
The athlete mentioned that he felt the impact of not being able to train in the cage due to the Gandia track being non-operational. However, he expressed perplexity regarding his performance in the heavy hammer, where he was two meters short of his usual mark. "But in this life, you also have to know how to lose, and things happen, you have to analyze the mistakes made," he commented.
Rey will now focus on the regional championship scheduled for June 13th, aiming to qualify, as in previous years, for the Spanish Championship, which will take place from June 26th to 28th at the Vallehermoso stadium in Madrid.
