The Municipal Group Compromís Més Gandia will present a motion at the next plenary session to demand urgent improvements to the Vehicle Technical Inspection (ITV) service in Gandia, due to the continuous difficulties citizens face in obtaining appointments.

The proposal urges the Ministry of Innovation, Industry, Commerce, and Tourism, under which the public company SITVAL falls, to implement the necessary mechanisms to strengthen the service and end a situation that causes waits of weeks or even months. The spokesperson for Compromís Més Gandia, Esther Sapena, denounces that "vehicle technical inspection is a mandatory and essential service, and therefore, it is not acceptable that citizens face constant barriers to comply with an administrative obligation".
Sapena regrets that the collapse situation at the Gandia station has become a common reality affecting thousands of people. "We are talking about residents who, unable to get an appointment within a reasonable timeframe, are forced to travel to other municipalities, incurring costs and inconveniences they should not have to bear".
Compromís Més Gandia believes that the Generalitat has the capacity to act immediately by increasing human resources, extending hours, or adopting other organizational measures to speed up the service. "When a public administration takes over the management of a service, it must also ensure that it functions properly. This is not just a matter of convenience: it affects the daily lives of many families, workers who need their vehicle for their daily activities," Sapena adds.
Therefore, they hope the proposal will receive the support of the other municipal groups because "this is a demand that goes beyond political affiliations and responds to a real need of the citizens".
