The Municipal Group Compromís Més Gandia will present an institutional declaration in the upcoming plenary to defend public Vocational Training against the cuts and lack of planning from the Ministry of Education.

The Municipal Group Compromís Més Gandia will present an institutional declaration in the ordinary plenary session next Friday, May 29th, to defend public and quality Vocational Training against the cuts, lack of planning, and abandonment that, according to the party, FP is suffering from the Ministry of Education.
Compromís warns that the situation in the educational centers of Gandia and the region is no longer a puntual problem, but a direct consequence of a model that is progressively weakening public education while the demand for places and training opportunities increases.

"What is happening with Vocational Training is inadmissible. While more and more young people want to pursue FP and more sectors need qualified professionals, the Ministry's response is to cut, eliminate courses, and leave centers without resources."

Esther Sapena · Spokesperson for Compromís Més Gandia
The spokesperson for Compromís Més Gandia, Esther Sapena, has denounced that the city has seen training offerings disappear in reference centers such as the IES Maria Enríquez or the IES Veles e Vents, while there are centers with hundreds of students waiting for a public place.

"It is incomprehensible and profoundly unfair that there are young people who are left out of the public system while families are pushed to seek private alternatives with costs of thousands of euros. This is not freedom of choice; this is creating an education for those who can afford it and another for those who cannot."

Esther Sapena · Spokesperson for Compromís Més Gandia
The party also denounces the situation experienced by the centers: payment delays, lack of teachers, temporary classrooms, lack of equipment, and classrooms that do not meet dignified conditions for teaching. In the case of the IES Veles e Vents, Compromís regrets the paralysis of the Pla Edificant and that prefabricated classrooms exist without basic ICT resources months after their installation.

"The reality is that the educational community is performing miracles every day while the Ministry looks the other way. Teachers, management teams, and students are assuming deficiencies that do not correspond to them."

Esther Sapena · Spokesperson for Compromís Més Gandia
Therefore, the institutional declaration calls for the recovery of eliminated courses, the expansion of public places, the coverage of pending staff, the immediate payment of economic resources to the centers, and an urgent investment plan to guarantee dignified infrastructure.

"Defending public FP is defending equal opportunities, the future of our young people, and the model of society we want. We will not allow cuts and lack of planning to continue deteriorating an essential public service."
