The leader of the People's Party, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, has defended his party's management of the recent storm disaster and accused the Spanish government under Pedro Sánchez of abandoning Valencians during the catastrophe's most critical moments.

The PP event, held in Sueca (Ribera Baixa), coincided with a demonstration by dozens of storm victims and public school teachers protesting against the regional government's policies.
During his speech to party members and officials, Feijóo criticized the Spanish government's response following the floods of October 29, 2024, stating that the Government left them alone and denouncing what he considers a "political use" of the tragedy against the Generalitat.
Relatives of victims used the popular leader's presence to recall their months-long criticism of the institutional response to the catastrophe and to demand that the debate on what went wrong not be closed.
Public school teachers, involved in a dispute with the Generalitat over educational policies and labor conditions, also joined the protest, turning the PP meeting into a new scene of social demonstration.
While whistles and shouts of protest were heard outside, Feijóo inside appealed for party unity ahead of the 2027 electoral cycle and promised that, if he reaches Moncloa, he would promote a new "autonomous financing" system to end the "discrimination" that, he claims, the Valencian Country suffers.
