The thirteenth edition of MARTE, Castellón's Contemporary Art Fair, has concluded with nearly 8,000 visitors, a record in artworks sold, and an estimated economic impact of 375,000 euros, reinforcing the city as a center for cultural attraction.

MARTE, the Contemporary Art Fair of Castellón, has closed its thirteenth edition with a highly positive outcome, confirming the event's growth and its established position in the Valencian cultural landscape. The Auditorium and Congress Palace of Castellón welcomed nearly 8,000 visitors during the fair days, and a record number of artworks sold is expected, with further sales pending finalization. The organization estimates that the event generated an economic return of 375,000 euros for the province, thanks to visitor spending, thus solidifying MARTE's role as a cultural, tourist, and economic driver for Castellón.
This year, MARTE brought together twenty galleries and several institutional projects, attracting collectors, artists, industry professionals, and the general public interested in contemporary creation. The fair combined exhibition, sales, cultural mediation, and parallel activities aimed at engaging new audiences with art. Furthermore, the MARTE Expedition initiative connected the fair with other cultural spaces in the province, including visits to the exhibition 'Castelló Col·lecciona. Elogi de l’incomplet' at the Convent de Vila-real and the MACVAC in Vilafamés.
The MARTE Social program addressed topics such as artistic creation and artificial intelligence, fostering debate on new digital languages in art. The work from CeramicRes 2024 was also exhibited. The artist residency section gained prominence with the participation of EME Residencia, Enate, and La Neomudéjar, while families enjoyed a free children's workshop organized by INCLUSIVE.
The invited artist, Juana González, recently recognized as Best Spanish Artist at ARCO 2025, was a major highlight, attracting the interest of several collections. Artworks by artists such as Chanivet, Pedro Cuadra, Amina Kouissar, Pedro Kouba, Mila Dobrevska, Agustín Esteso, Jaume Cremades, Ángeles Agrela, Soledad Sevilla, Dani Hache, and Jazzy Dope were also sold.
Through MARTE Curated, the fair promoted accessible collecting with a selection of emerging and mid-career artists, offering quality works at affordable prices to broaden the collector base. MARTE is sponsored by the Diputació de Castelló and the Ajuntament de Castelló, with support from the Generalitat Valenciana through the Consorci de Museus de la Comunitat Valenciana and the Institut Valencià de Cultura.
