The Castelló City Council plenary session, lasting three hours, was marked by the presence of striking teachers demanding improvements for public education, creating a tense atmosphere.

The plenary session of Castelló City Council, which lasted three hours, was marked by the presence of representatives from the striking teaching staff, who demanded improvements for public education. While most council members and the mayor expressed their support for the sector, Vox councilor Alberto Vidal warned the public that "be careful, their true intentions are showing, gentlemen," in response to criticism of his words. In contrast, Pau Sancho, a councilor from Compromís, received applause for his defense of "just demands."
The tone of the demands escalated when banners were displayed. One of the teachers described the air conditioning in the plenary hall as a "privilege" and asked the mayor if the units could be moved to educational centers, referring to the heat experienced in some schools. "It's even cold in here," she commented.
The mayor, as a "user of public education," appealed to the sensitivity of the regional ministry and for an "understanding for the good of the educational community." At the end of the session, professor and former Compromís councilor Enric Porcar handed her the teachers' demands, asking her to speak with the regional minister and the president of the Generalitat Valenciana. Also present in the audience was professor and former PSOE councilor Niño Jiménez.
Councilors from Compromís, including Ignasi Garcia, Pau Sancho, and Vera Bou, along with socialist Jorge Ribes, showed their support for the group by wearing green t-shirts in favor of public education.
Musicians who had previously participated in a performance in the Plaza Mayor entertained the plenary session from the Plaza del Mercadillo with pieces such as "Paquito el Chocolatero" and "Pasqualet," creating a musical atmosphere during the session.
The atmosphere became tense when the mayor had to admonish Vox councilor Alberto Vidal for attempting to explain a withdrawn motion. The spokesperson for the local government, Vicent Sales, also reprimanded him for comments about socialists, warning him: "Mr. Vidal, wherever you see a puddle, you step in it."
