The man arrested on Monday in Castellón has been placed in provisional prison, communicated, and without bail. The decision was made by the judge responsible for domestic violence cases in the city, who is investigating the detainee for "several sexual assault offenses", pending final qualification.
This situation arises from the sexual assault complaint filed by his domestic worker. The police responded to this complaint shortly before locating the body of an elderly man in a freezer inside the detainee's apartment.
The discovery of the body and the associated criminal investigation have been taken over by investigating court number 4 of Castelló de la Plana. The investigation remains open, awaiting the results of various police and judicial inquiries to determine the causes and circumstances of the death.
The detainee, who owns the apartment, was located and arrested by the National Police in Peníscola (Alt Maestrat), hours after the sexual assault complaint was attended.
