The mountain of Montserrat is filled with an atmosphere of excitement and anticipation for the arrival of Pope Leo XIV, who will preside over the Holy Rosary prayer before thousands of faithful.

The atmosphere in Montserrat is one of excitement, nerves, and anticipation just hours before the arrival of Pope Leo XIV. Dozens of faithful have already gathered near the pontiff's planned route, occupying the closest seats to secure a good position, as reported by ACN. For many, it is a day they describe as historic. The first arrivals came around half past six, although some opted to spend the night on the mountain to ensure a prime spot.
Montserrat awoke under a large security operation, with access controls and traffic restrictions. The only way to reach it is by the rack railway, which is already running full of faithful and pilgrims from early morning. Thousands of unnumbered chairs have been set up in the squares. Although the public has an assigned area, early arrivals are taking advantage to sit closer to the pontiff's route. Large screens have also been installed to follow the ceremony from various points.
Approximately 8,000 accredited individuals will participate in this event, the central act of which will be the Holy Rosary prayer, presided over by the Pope. The performance of the “Salve Regina” and “El Virolai” by the Escolania de Montserrat is scheduled. One of the most anticipated moments will be the veneration of Our Lady of Montserrat, 'La Moreneta', before the Pope addresses the faithful from the balcony of Plaça de Santa Maria. The visit will conclude with a private lunch with the Benedictine community of the monastery.
