The Provincial Council of Castelló has launched the Dolç Festival, an initiative bringing the traditional music of the dolçaina and tabal to various counties within the province.

The festival's main objective is to invigorate municipalities and showcase Valencian musical heritage, featuring an extensive concert program that will tour several towns over the coming months. Performances have already taken place in Villamalur and Xodos, with more scheduled in municipalities of Alt Millars, Alcalatén, Els Ports, Plana Alta, and Plana Baixa.
The project, developed in collaboration with the Valencian Federation of Dolçainers and Tabaleters, aims to promote local musical groups, foster cultural activity in towns, and introduce citizens to the sound of the dolçaina as a symbol of Valencian culture.
This initiative underscores the provincial institution's commitment to disseminating musical heritage and the importance of continually bringing traditions closer to residents and visitors of the province. The program includes performances in towns such as Vilafranca, Catí, Càlig, Teresa, Pavías, Cabanes, Montán, and Moncofa, among others.
The Provincial Council has expressed gratitude for the participation of the involved town councils and encouraged citizens to join the festival, which aims to establish itself as a regular event for promoting traditional Valencian music in Castelló.
