Architect César Ruiz-Larrea, a pioneering figure in bioclimatic and sustainable architecture in Spain, will participate in a new session of the Ágora Talks conference series. The event, promoted by APE Grupo in collaboration with the Official College of Architects of Castellón (CTAC), will take place on Thursday, May 28th, at 7:00 PM at the APE Grupo headquarters, located at Calle Luxemburgo 46 in Castellón.
Under the title “The Journey of an Architect. 1976-2026”, Ruiz-Larrea will review half a century of his professional career. He will share his vision of architecture as a discipline closely linked to sustainability, technical innovation, and the relationship with the environment. As the founder of the Ruiz-Larrea & Asociados studio, the Madrid-based architect has focused on reducing energy demand and integrating bioclimatic and industrialized solutions, establishing himself as a benchmark in sustainable architecture in Spain.
Among his most recognized projects are the Royal Conservatory of Music of Almería, the Andalusian Energy Agency, the Sogecable-Movistar Plus headquarters, the Hemiciclo Solar residential complex, the CENER (National Renewable Energy Center), and the sustainable renovation of Castellana 19 in Madrid, considered the first office transformation under the Passivhaus EnerPhit standard. His work has been selected for the Venice Biennale and has received numerous awards.
The Ágora Talks cycle has established itself as a meeting point for architecture and interior design professionals, having previously featured figures such as Rafael de La-Hoz, Benedetta Tagliabue, and Carlos Lamela, among others. With this session, APE Grupo reaffirms its commitment to disseminating architectural knowledge and fostering dialogue on the contemporary challenges in architecture, sustainability, and design.
