The city of Vila-real has kicked off its festive celebrations with a symbolic event in Jaume I garden. The day began with the traditional ringing of bells and the launch of fireworks, which marked the official start of the activities.

The event was attended by prominent local figures, including the mayor of the city, José Benlloch; the Councilor for Festivities, Miriam Caravaca; the president of the Junta de Festes, Toni Carmona; the president of the Comisión de Peñas, Pau Franco; the festival queen, Berta Beteta, and her court of honor. Other representatives from the municipal corporation and festival entities were also present.

Following the initial acts, the delegation toured the spaces designated for the celebrations. One of the first stops was the inauguration of the food-trucks area, also located in Jaume I garden, which is part of the gastronomic offerings for the festivities.

Subsequently, authorities and festival representatives moved to the Recinto de la Marcha, thus completing the institutional visit scheduled for the start of the festival. The day proceeded normally, despite some occasional appearances of rain, without any significant incidents being reported.

Once the visit to the Recinto de la Marcha concluded, the court of honor and the rest of the delegation boarded the municipal bus, known as the ‘Groguet’ bus, to return to the town center, marking the end of the first part of the official events.
