Farmers in Onda and the City Council have formed a united front to address solar panel installation projects within the municipality, which are currently under review by competent authorities.

The local council convened the Agrarian Council, predominantly composed of farmers from the Cota 220 and Villa de Onda irrigation community, as well as the Local Cooperative. The aim was to reach a consensus on municipal regulations for solar panel installations.
It was agreed to submit objections to projects affecting rural areas of the municipality. Furthermore, a modification to the General Urban Planning Plan was proposed to establish new control mechanisms for these types of projects.

"This City Council will always stand by our farmers and the interests of the countryside, because they are part of Onda's DNA, and what is not good for them is not good for Onda. That is why we have listened to them and will work hand in hand."
