The Onda City Council has held a new session of the citizen participation campaign ‘A peu de carrer’ in the area where the future Cultural Alquería will be located, a project promoted by the government team to transform a currently disused building into a new cultural and educational space for the city.
The mayoress of Onda, Carmina Ballester, accompanied by the councilor for Neighborhoods and Dispersed Nuclei, Marta Villanueva, toured different streets and areas of the zone to hold direct meetings with residents and collect proposals related to urban maintenance, improvement of public spaces, and the daily needs of the neighborhood.
During the visit, Ballester emphasized the importance of maintaining direct communication with citizens and stated that the objective of this initiative is “to continue listening to residents, attend to their proposals, and improve each neighborhood from a position of closeness”.
The mayoress also highlighted the future transformation of the area thanks to the Cultural Alquería project, which will allow the recovery of a disused property to turn it into a new cultural and educational meeting point for the families of Onda.
The ‘A peu de carrer’ campaign is part of the municipal proximity strategy promoted by the council to strengthen direct contact between the government team and the citizens.
In addition to these in-person visits, the City Council keeps a specific form available on its website for residents to submit proposals, incidents, or suggestions electronically.
