The town of Onda has hosted a new edition of the 10 Peaks Sierra de Espadán Challenge, establishing itself as a benchmark for sport and active tourism nationally. The event, organized by the Club Demarrage Valencia, brought together hundreds of cyclists from various parts of Spain, who traversed emblematic locations within the Sierra de Espadán Natural Park, with start and finish in Onda.
The Mayor of Onda, Carmina Ballester, participated in the event's start. She highlighted the importance of continuing to host sporting events that boost economic activity, promote the natural environment, and reinforce Onda's image as a destination linked to sport and nature.
The 10 Peaks Sierra de Espadán Challenge featured various routes designed for different levels of difficulty, crossing roads and mountain passes within the natural environment of the Sierra de Espadán. The event is part of the international cycling for all calendar of the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) and has become one of the most attractive sporting events for road cycling enthusiasts.
The staging of this challenge consolidates Onda's municipal strategy to position itself as an ideal hub for outdoor sports practice, leveraging its privileged natural surroundings, infrastructure, and connection to areas of great scenic value.
