Coach Marcelino García Toral has publicly addressed his departure from Villarreal CF, emphasizing that he leaves with a full heart and pride in the period spent at the 'Yellow Submarine' club.

In his first public statement after his official departure from Villarreal CF, the coach expressed his emotion and satisfaction with the time spent at the club. He noted that the decision not to continue was made between December and January, and that maximum discretion was maintained to benefit the team in achieving its objectives.

"We leave with our hearts absolutely full; it has been a wonderful stage. The club's proposal did not align with our aspirations."

The main reason for the non-renewal was the difference in aspirations between both parties. While the club offered a one-year contract, the coaching staff envisioned a minimum of two. Despite this, the coach made it clear that there is nothing to reproach and that the relationship ends in the most cordial way possible, thanking them for the freedom to work.
He highlighted his gratitude to the squad for their professionalism, even knowing the situation, and recalled that Villarreal CF has possibly been the club that has marked him the most in his career, after Sporting de Gijón. He emphasized his seven years at the club, with many victories and the affectionate treatment from the fans.
Regarding the future, the coach indicated that he will take a break to analyze his options, as he is at a point in his life where he can choose. He stressed that patience and analysis are key to avoiding mistakes in his next decision.
Finally, he spoke about the upcoming match against Mallorca, highlighting the importance of the team's professionalism and competitiveness to maintain third position in the league. He confirmed that there will be changes in the lineup, but without making massive alterations, to ensure that all players participate in this final stretch of the season.
