The IX Vila d'Onda 'En Xicotet' Audiovisual Showcase has concluded at the Casa de la Cultura in Onda, awarding the best productions and performances in an edition marked by quality and diversity.

Onda has once again been the setting for a cinema-filled weekend with the celebration of the IX Vila d'Onda 'En Xicotet' Audiovisual Showcase. This event, now consolidated in the city's cultural calendar, brought together creators, industry professionals, and lovers of the seventh art at the Casa de la Cultura.
Over two days, the public enjoyed the screening of short films selected for the official section. The program stood out for its artistic quality, diverse proposals, and support for Valencian audiovisual talent. The showcase culminated with the awards ceremony, where the jury recognized the best productions and performances of this ninth edition.

After the deliberation of the professional jury, the award for Best Short Film went to Cólera, by José Luis Lázaro, one of the most outstanding works of this edition for its narrative quality, visual strength, and interpretive intensity. In the category of Best Short Film in Valencian, the award was given to Pálpito, by Marisa Crespo and Moisés Romera, consolidating a proposal that excelled in its sensitivity and technical solidity.
The award for Best Actress went to Lorena López, for her performance in Pordentro, while the recognition for Best Actor was awarded ex aequo to Manuel Canchal and Jorge Motos for their work in Cólera. Additionally, the jury granted a Special Mention to Pobre Marciano, by Álex Rey, for its originality and creative proposal.
Regarding the Audience Award - Miguel Ángel Gaya, determined by audience vote, the winner was the short film Quemar al padre, directed by Rafa Piqueras and starring Onda actor, Víctor Palmero.
The jury for this ninth edition was composed of audiovisual industry professionals such as director and screenwriter Luis Eduardo Pérez, screenwriter Pilar Paredes, and actor Alejandro Bordanove. The 'En Xicotet' Showcase, promoted by the Onda City Council in collaboration with the Confiances Cultural Association, was created to support short-form audiovisual production in the Comunitat Valenciana and has become a showcase for emerging creators and industry professionals.
