This agreement, formalized by the regional Minister of Health and the Mayor of Burriana, aims to accelerate administrative processing so that construction can begin during 2027. The planned investment is close to 3 million euros, covering both construction and equipment.
“"Institutions work when they coordinate to improve citizens' quality of life and to rectify the injustices committed 5 years ago when COVID arrived."
The new healthcare center will be located on a 2,100 square meter plot, next to the port church, between Avenida Mediterrània and Avenida Jaime Chicharro. It will serve approximately 5,000 citizens from the port of Burriana.
The future clinic will feature a Family Medicine Area with three medical consultation rooms, three nursing consultation rooms, and a multi-functional room with a social worker. Additionally, it will have an Extraction and Treatment Area, as well as a specific Pediatrics Area with medical and nursing consultation rooms. It will also include a patient reception area and an Emergency Area for vital emergency care.
The Ministry of Health will finance the works with over 2.1 million euros, while Burriana City Council will manage the direction and execution of the project. This collaboration model seeks to unblock urban planning issues and will serve as a reference for other municipalities in the Valencian Community.
The new clinic will allow for the reorganization of healthcare in Burriana, so that some patients currently attending the Grau Auxiliary Clinic and the Burriana II Integrated Health Center can be directly attended at the port.
