Hundreds of families, teachers, and students have filled the streets of Vila-real in a historic march under the slogan 'The educational community on the move!' to defend public education and the language.

The educational community of Vila-real has staged a historic mobilization in defense of public education. Under the slogan 'The educational community on the move!', hundreds of families, teachers, and students have filled the town's streets in a rally that took place in a markedly reivindicative, yet also festive and familiar, atmosphere.
The march began at 7:00 PM from Plaça de la Maiorasga and traversed the urban center, converging at the Plaça Major. There, representatives from the assemblies of public educational centers, families, and students from Vila-real took the floor to read a joint manifesto focused on teaching dignity and the future of coming generations.
Throughout the route, attendees voiced their support with various slogans in defense of public education and the language. Political discontent was a central theme of the protest, with unanimous calls for the resignation of both the Minister of Education and the President of the Generalitat. Furthermore, strong chants were heard demanding the immediate reopening of sectoral negotiations.
The demonstration was also marked by collective indignation, expressing strong condemnation for the police aggression suffered by a retired teacher last Sunday in Valencia while peacefully protesting. The mobilization of the educational community does not end here, with a new action planned for tomorrow at the market.
