Villarreal C seeks early goal against Levante B for promotion chances

The second yellow reserve team must overcome the 1-3 deficit from the first leg in Buñol to advance in the promotion playoffs.

Villarreal C faces this afternoon (18:00) the return match of the first round of the regional promotion phase to Segunda Federación, against Levante B, who won the first leg 1-3.

The second leg will be played at the Levante UD Sports City in Buñol. The Villarreal team knows that the only way to dream of overcoming the adverse score is to score an early goal. They have 90 minutes to score two goals, which would force extra time, and three to reach the final. If the tie remains level after extra time, Levante B would advance due to better regular season standing.
David Cifuentes, coach of the yellow reserve team, highlighted the quick and positive way his team recovered after the setback of the first leg. "The week has been quite easy to face because they (the players) also believe. We haven't had to lift the lads because we all lifted ourselves at the same time," he stated.
Historically, these two reserve teams have met ten times in official Tercera league matches in Buñol. The record stands at three yellow victories, two draws, and five wins for Levante. This season, in the regular phase, Villarreal C defeated Levante B 0-1, with a goal from Seydou Llopis.
