Salvador Gomar, president of the Valencian Football Federation, has expressed his satisfaction with the positive state of Valencian football, highlighting the possibility of five teams reaching the First Division.

Salvador Gomar, president of the Football Federation of the Valencian Community (FFCV), stated that the possibility of Valencian football having five teams in the First Division, should Castellón be promoted, is a circumstance that "excites" him. "Seeing that there can be five teams in the First Division is exciting," said Gomar, who emphasized that Valencian football "is in vogue" and is experiencing a positive moment due to both the situation of its clubs and the presence of Valencian coaches in various categories.
The federation official noted that in recent weeks there had been concern about the situation of two Valencian teams (Elche and Levante) and even three (Valencia), although all ultimately achieved permanence. Villarreal, for its part, finished third. "We can breathe now, because there were two teams, even three, that could have had difficulties two weeks ago. We now have Castellón close by and Villarreal B, which also has a chance to move up, just like Eldense, which is already in the Second Division," he explained.
Regarding Valencia, Gomar lamented that the Mestalla team did not qualify for the Conference League. "It's a shame they didn't reach Europe. I think Valencia could have done a little more, because with four or five more points you are almost in the Champions League." "It couldn't be due to circumstances, and that's it, back to fighting again. We are Valencianists, I support all teams, but my heart, everyone knows, is with Valencia, and well, suffering like this isn't good," he added.
In relation to women's football, Gomar expressed his regret over Levante's relegation to Primera RFEF. "It left us all a bit stunned because it wasn't normal for Levante to go down." However, he expressed confidence that the blue and red club can return to the top flight next season. "They have to grit their teeth and come back up. Levante has the stature to be in Liga F next year." He also recalled that Villarreal and Valencia are playing the second leg of the promotion final to Liga F this Saturday, meaning the Valencian Community will have at least one representative in the elite of Spanish football.
On the number of Valencians in Luis de la Fuente's squad, Gomar highlighted the call-ups for Ferran Torres and Alex Grimaldo. "There are also some who are like our own, like Yeremy Pino, who has been here for many years. If we count it that way (that Mosquera and Soler were in the preliminary list), there should be more Valencians, but if we consider that other clubs have none, then…," he expressed. "I think they are the ones who deserve it, it's the Spanish national team, we have to support them to be world champions, and we'll be there," the president added.
Finally, regarding Spain's chances in the World Cup, he stated that he sees the national team as a favorite: "I would say champions based on numbers, but then you have to play. Playing in a World Cup is very difficult, and this year there are 104 matches, which is a lot. I think they will do well."
