GRC Jan Van Arckel wins the first stage of the Gran Premi Vila-real de Ciclisme

The Dutch team wins the initial time trial, with cyclist Casper Van Der Woude becoming the first leader of the race.

The GRC Jan Van Arckel team has been proclaimed winner of the first stage of the 78th edition of the Gran Premi Vila-real de Ciclisme, a 4-kilometer time trial with start and finish at the Estadio de la Cerámica.

The GRC Jan Van Arckel team has been proclaimed winner of the first stage of the 78th edition of the Gran Premi Vila-real de Ciclisme. The competition began with a 4-kilometer time trial, starting and finishing at the Estadio de la Cerámica, with a passage through the Termet area of Vila-real. Casper Van Der Woude, a cyclist from the Dutch team, is the first leader of the classification and will wear the jersey sponsored by the Vila-real City Council in the second stage.
The team, the only international participant, was the fastest over the 4 kilometers. The second position went to the Extremadura Pebetero team, followed by CcLeida_Dpedros in third place. Van der Woude also secured the regularity jersey, sponsored by the Vila-real City Council and the Municipal Sports Service. Additionally, local cyclist Héctor Domínguez, from the High Level Gsport team, won the provincial best cyclist jersey and the regional one.
The second stage, covering 137 kilometers, linked Vila-real and Morella, with an accumulated elevation gain of 2742 meters. The race started at Plaça Major in Vila-real and was scheduled to finish at Pla dels Estudis in Morella. The third stage, on Sunday the 31st, will connect Morella and Vila-real with a 126-kilometer route.
This elite and U23 category event will award jerseys from Fundació Caixa Rural, Proymec, Orenga Finestres i Vidres, Multiópticas Vila-real, and PMA. Peryser provided the cars, and GSPORT was responsible for the jersey production.
