Users from the El Molí Occupational Center have shaped two large ceramic murals that will adorn the interior of Onda's new Municipal Market, as part of the Plaza España renovation project.

Users from the El Molí Occupational Center have shaped two large ceramic murals that will be installed inside the new Municipal Market of Onda, as part of the comprehensive renovation project of Plaza España. The pieces aim to enhance the venue's appeal as a commercial, artistic, and meeting space for residents and visitors.
The mayor of Onda, Carmina Ballester, visited the center to learn about the progress of the work. During the tour, she checked the status of the panels, among which stands out a mural inspired by the seabed, already completed, and another dedicated to a still life of gastronomic products, which is finalizing its last details.
Ballester highlighted the involvement of El Molí users in an initiative that will become part of one of the city's most emblematic spaces. The mayor stated that «these murals reflect the talent, sensitivity, and resilience of the people who build a better Onda every day». Furthermore, she affirmed that «we are very excited for their work to occupy a prominent place in the new Municipal Market and to be part of the transformation of Plaza España».
The initiative is part of the municipal urban beautification program Onda Bonica and will incorporate two large-format ceramic pieces inside the market. The chosen theme connects with the essence of the venue itself, combining elements related to nature and gastronomy, two references linked to the space's commercial activity.
The panels are made with ceramic material provided by the local company Realonda. The initiative unites social inclusion, creativity, and the promotion of the local ceramic industry, one of the sectors with the deepest roots in Onda's economic and cultural identity.
The installation of these murals will be integrated into the set of actions planned for the renovation of Plaza España, which is now in its final phase. The new Municipal Market will thus feature its own artistic elements to create a more attractive, welcoming, and recognizable space for merchants, customers, and visitors.
Ceramics will play a leading role in this transformation. In addition to the murals created by El Molí users, the project includes the participation of local talent such as ceramist Joana Segura, author of decorative elements inspired by traditional tomatoes, a nod to the city's agricultural and commercial history.
These pieces, along with the ceramic coverings incorporated at various points of the project, reinforce Onda's connection with an industry that is an essential part of its identity. The new market thus adds commercial, artistic, and social value in the city's urban heart.
