The suspect accused of stabbing a 38-year-old man to death on Casablanca beach in Almenara has been brought before the judicial authority in Nules, following his arrest by the Civil Guard.

The detainee, originally from Xilxes, is appearing before the Civil and Instruction Section of the Court of Instance No. 2 in Nules. He had been in the custody of the Civil Guard in la Vall d’Uixó since Friday, where investigators interrogated him. He is accused of killing his current partner's ex-husband in a villa on Casablanca beach, in the presence of the woman and her two minor children with the victim.
Meanwhile, investigators continue their search for the murder weapon, considered a key piece of evidence to strengthen the case. The Civil Guard, with the collaboration of the Almenara Local Police, has searched various points in the maritime district to find the sharp object allegedly used in the homicide. The Criminalistics Service of the Civil Guard's Judicial Police has inspected the crime scene and the surrounding areas of the villa, including nearby dumpsters, given the possibility that the alleged perpetrator disposed of the weapon there. The proximity of the Marjal de Almenara and the sea expands the search radius.

"In the past, there had already been police interventions at the villa where the crime occurred, mainly related to custody disputes over the two minor children."

Sources close to the case
According to the same sources, there are no prior records linked to gender-based violence from local entities. The two minors and their mother are in good health, although they received psychological support after witnessing the events. The investigation remains open to clarify the circumstances of the crime.
Initial hypotheses point to a sentimental motive. The alleged aggressor reportedly went to his partner's house and, upon finding her ex-husband there, a dispute arose between the two men, ending in a stabbing. The victim, 38, was originally from Benifairó de les Valls but had lived in Almenara for years. The attack is believed to have started near a car parked in front of the villa, and the severely wounded man managed to return inside the house, where he collapsed.
The first responders were agents of the Almenara Local Police, alerted by the 112 emergency number. They found a trail of blood next to the vehicle and, inside the house, the man lying on the floor. The officers attempted to revive him until the arrival of medical services, but they could not save his life. The Civil Guard arrested the alleged perpetrator at the scene and transferred him to the la Vall d’Uixó barracks, from where he has been brought before the judicial authority.
