The Valencian Society of ITV (Sitval) has commenced testing for the new provisional Vehicle Technical Inspection (ITV) station in Onda. This measure comes in response to the difficulty in obtaining appointments at the stations in Castellón and Vila-real, which have no availability for the next 45 days, with only appointments available in Vinaròs from 30 days out. The technical, organizational, and verification procedures necessary to ensure the proper functioning of the facilities and inspection equipment have been completed.
Sitval, which falls under the Conselleria de Industria, Turismo, Innovación y Comercio, explained that planning, technical review, and space adaptation work have been executed, along with tasks assigned to the station's maintenance and coordination staff. The objective is to ensure the facility begins operation with all safety and efficiency guarantees.
These actions are essential for ensuring correct operability, as they have allowed for the verification of inspection equipment status, conditioning of auxiliary facilities, and proper organization of workspaces. The Conselleria de Industria, led by Marián Cano, has thanked the technical, maintenance, and organizational staff for their involvement in accelerating the launch of critical equipment.
Among the completed actions are the configuration and verification of PDAs for inspection personnel, including software checks, communications, and data reading. Serial number checks, labeling, and inventory of used equipment have also been carried out. Regarding inspection equipment, installation, connection, calibration, and regulatory verification of the gas analyzer, opacimeter, and sound meter have been performed.
In parallel, facility and auxiliary space adaptation work has been undertaken, such as installing metal sheeting in the play detector lane to facilitate stretcher movement. The internal organization of the auxiliary tent and the office cabin has also been planned to optimize daily operations.
Once all actions are concluded, the station director will conduct a final on-site supervision. Following this check, the Valencian Institute of Business Competitiveness (IVACE) will be notified of the facilities' availability for the necessary prior audit before the official launch. The entire process is being developed with urgency to expedite the final authorization as much as possible.
