Falla commissions in Burriana are working against the clock to finish the artistic compositions that will turn the municipality into a large garden. This year, a total of 38 monuments, including both large and children's crosses, will be the protagonists of this celebration that marks the beginning of the Falla calendar.
Preparations include the construction of traditional water pools, fountains, and handcrafted details that accompany the main cross. Each commission brings its own style, using the carnation as the central element of their creations.
The official program will begin this Friday with the Nit de la Plantà, the moment when the commissions place the flowers to ensure they look their best. On Saturday, the jury will visit the monuments to evaluate the work and award prizes, which will be presented at the Llar Fallera.
As a novelty, the Burriana City Council has increased the prize fund by 3,000 euros, establishing direct financial awards for the best crosses. In addition, the Falla la Bosca is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year with a special creation to commemorate its golden jubilee.
