The Burriana City Council is advancing in the improvement of its sports infrastructure by tendering for technical assistance for the integral reform and improvement works of the "Sant Blai" Municipal Sports Center. The contract includes the drafting of basic and execution projects, as well as the subsequent technical supervision of the works.
The maximum tender budget amounts to 84,700 euros (VAT included), divided into two lots. The first lot, with an investment of 38,300 euros, will focus on providing accessibility to the complex, aiming to eliminate architectural barriers for people with reduced mobility and to once again host official competitions. The second lot, endowed with 48,400 euros, will aim to improve the waterproofing conditions of the infrastructure to prevent problems arising from humidity and leaks. This tender also includes the drafting of the safety and health study, and the waste management study.
Following approval by the Local Government Board, the tender announcement will be published shortly, opening the period for interested companies to submit their offers. The overall reform project has an investment of 700,000 euros, financed by an agreement of 450,000 euros and a contribution from the Diputación de Castellón's Plan Impulsa. The planned works include the renovation of the facade, the adaptation of access areas, stands, changing rooms, and other services, ensuring strict compliance with current accessibility regulations.
The facilities, which have a capacity for 120 people and are used by over 1,000 people weekly, will be equipped with new services. The pavilion, built in the 1980s, serves as a training base for disciplines such as basketball, rhythmic gymnastics, Valencian pilota, futnet, and pickleball, in addition to hosting maintenance gymnastics sessions for the CEAM and SME activities during the Summer, Christmas, and Easter Sports Conferences.
The Councilor for Urban Planning, Mario Trullen, highlighted the municipal executive's agility in modernizing the complex, while the mayor of Burriana, Jorge Monferrer Daudí, explained the desire for facilities without architectural barriers and leaks as soon as possible.
