The city of Burriana solidifies its position as a national and international triathlon hub with the fifth edition of the Infinitri Burriana Triathlon Festival, which this year has broken records with 1,100 registered participants.

The sporting event has sold out all its bibs weeks before its celebration, showing a 68% growth compared to the previous edition, which had 655 triathletes. These figures confirm the festival's status as a key date in the sporting calendar and a tourist attraction for the capital of Plana Baixa.
The festival maintains a format designed for athletes of various levels, offering four modalities adapted to different preparation stages. The Half modality includes 1.9 km of swimming, 84 km of cycling, and 21 km of running. Aquabike combines 1.9 km of swimming with 84 km of cycling. The program is completed by the Olympic+ modality, consisting of 1.5 km of swimming, 42 km of cycling, and 14 km of running, and the Short modality, with 1 km of swimming, 21 km of cycling, and 7 km of running. This variety allows both beginners and experienced triathletes to participate.
The international reach of the event is reflected in the origin of the participants: 93.5% come from outside the province of Castellón, 63.5% are from outside the Valencian Community, and 8.3% are international participants, representing a total of 25 nationalities.
Playa del Arenal, awarded a Blue Flag, will be the competition's nerve center for the swimming segment. The cycling route will run through city avenues and the CV-18, designed to be fast and safe. The running race will take place around the Paraje Natural Municipal Clot de la Mare de Déu, offering triathletes green and shaded areas. Additionally, the Infinitri Village, located near the finish line, will feature music, gastronomy, a recovery zone, and public exhibitors.
The Councilor for Sports, Fran Capdevila, highlighted that "reaching 1,100 registered participants and growing by almost 70% in a single year shows that Burriana is a top-tier sporting and organizational venue." He added that "welcoming athletes from 25 different nationalities not only positions our city on the international triathlon map but also generates a significant economic and tourist impact for our businesses and restaurants throughout the weekend."
The Councilor for Tourism, Noelia Peris, emphasized the event's impact on the municipality, particularly due to the arrival of participants with their companions. She stated that "it is a great joy to see that more than 93% of participants come from outside the province, as these athletes travel with their partners, family, and friends who come to enjoy our municipality, our beaches, restaurants, and leisure areas." Peris invited residents and visitors to witness the competition and enjoy the local coast, recalling the tourist excellence once again validated by three Blue Flags.
