The fifth edition of the race began with hundreds of triathletes tackling the demanding long-distance modalities in a prime setting next to the Mediterranean. Orpesa del Mar responded to the generated expectation, becoming a hub for national and international triathlon.
The day's winners were Ramón Ejeda Medina and Eider Bereziartua Aguirre in the men's and women's FULL distance, respectively. In the HALF modality, Adrián Cea Fol and Marta Garrido Martín took the victory. The Aquabike FULL competition went to Igor Franko and Judith Bohnenkamp, while in Aquabike HALF, Sergio Ruedas Exposito and Julie Batson were the winners.
The day, which started at 08:00, offered ideal conditions for sport, with a renewed cycling segment through the interior of the province of Castellón and running routes through emblematic points of Orpesa.
The organization received excellent feedback for its logistics, volunteer coordination, safety, and services offered, with no significant incidents. The Expo area and the spaces at Playa Verde maintained a large public turnout, consolidating the event.
The competition will continue tomorrow, Sunday, with the Olympic and Sprint races, which will bring together hundreds of athletes before the official closing. With nearly 1,500 participants, Orpesa demonstrates its capacity to host major sporting events.
