Orpesa is gearing up to host the fifth edition of the Scott Mediterranean Epic Triathlon, an event that will bring together nearly 1,500 athletes this weekend.

The town of Orpesa will become the epicenter of national and international triathlon with the Scott Mediterranean Epic Triathlon. This fifth edition, taking place this weekend, expects the participation of around 1,500 athletes. Furthermore, the event will have the added appeal of being the official venue for the Regional Long-Distance Triathlon Championship, ensuring the presence of the best specialists from the Valencian Community.
Activities will commence on Saturday with the long and middle distances. The competition will kick off at 8:00 AM with the men's 'full' triathlon category, followed by the women's and the 'full' aquabike. At 12:15 PM, the 'half' distance will begin, and the day will conclude with the awards ceremony starting at 5:00 PM. On Sunday, speed will take center stage with the Olympic distance at 8:00 AM and the 'sprint' category at 8:50 AM, with trophy presentations at 11:30 AM.
One of the major novelties this year is the new cycling route for the 'full' and 'half' distances. This course temporarily leaves the coast to venture into the province's interior, passing through towns like Cabanes and Vall d’Alba. It features a challenging profile with several prolonged ascents designed to test the triathletes' endurance.
The event will award a prize pool of 6,000 euros for the 'full' distance, distributed equally between the male and female categories, demonstrating the organization's commitment to equality. With this impressive setup, Orpesa and the Scott Mediterranean Epic Triathlon reaffirm their position as a prime destination for sports tourism.
