The cultural event, developed at the Auditorium and Convention Centre of the capital of Plana Alta, registered an estimated 8,000 visits. MARTE surpassed its own record for artworks sold, a figure that could increase due to commercial operations committed for later closure.
The event's impact extends beyond the cultural sphere. Expenses incurred by visitors in the province have generated an estimated economic return of 375,000 euros. During the fair, the public and collectors were able to explore the proposals of 20 art galleries and around twenty initiatives from various institutions.
The Marte Expedition initiative extended the fair's activities to other municipalities. Notable among these is the exhibition «Castelló Col·lecciona. Elogi de l’incomplet» at El Convent de Vila-real, open until June 16. The MACVAC in Vilafamés hosts the «Fashion Art» collection until October 10, by designer Manuel Fernández.
On the social front, MARTE hosted a talk on the confluence of artistic creation and artificial intelligence, given by Safe Creative and Alsino Skowronnek. The project CeramicRes 2024 also showcased creations by artists such as Leticia Martínez, Silvana Hurtado-Dianderas, and Andrés Izquierdo. The artistic residency section featured contributions from EME Residencia, Enate, and La Neomudejar. A free children's workshop coordinated by INCLUSIVE concluded Sunday's activities.
The cultural and institutional fabric was prominently represented. MIAU Fanzara exhibited works from the «Escultura i renovació fallera» project, directed by David Moreno. The Provincial Council of Castellón paid tribute to the Valencian artist Joaquín Michavila on the centenary of his birth. The City Council of Castellón de la Plana displayed works by Carlos Bonet and Tamara de Frutos, recipients of the Hábitat Artístic grants.
The invited artist was Juana González, recognized with awards such as Best Spanish Artist at ARCO 2025, the XXXIV López Villaseñor Award for Plastic Arts, and distinctions in the ABC Awards.
Through MARTE Curated, accessible collecting was promoted with emerging artists. The MXM collection acquired the ink on paper piece «Crianza» by Juana González (ARMA Gallery). The Alejandro Bethancourt collection purchased the oil painting «Sed» by the same artist and «Tiro al pie» by Chanivet (La Panartería).
Other transactions include the purchase of «Último día en el cielo» by LES & JON ART from Lapislázuli; a piece by Pedro Cuadra (Garage Bonilla) for the C64 ART collection; «Perfiles privados» by Cuadra to Colección Petrarca; a work by Amina Kouissar (Arias Rego) for SERO; and three works by Pedro Kouba («Runaway», «Golden Era», «Father stretch your hands») for Vila-Real Assessors (La Mercería gallery).
The firm Manuel García acquired a piece by Mila Dobrevska (A Pick Gallery); the EME collection bought «Mariposa» by Agustín Esteso (MXM); Garage Bonilla sold a piece by Jaume Cremades to Arias Rego. Finally, Fracaral acquired «La elegida» by Ángeles Agrela (Christian Walter); UBE purchased «Montaña Mágica» by Soledad Sevilla; Barza added «Café del Valle» by Dani Hache (95 Art Gallery); and MARTE incorporated «Odio ser así de frágil. Inestable como la pólvora caducada» by Jazzy Dope (Est_ArtSpace).
The Torrijos Art District awarded an artistic residency to creator Laura Salguero (La Gran). The event was sponsored by the Ayuntamiento de Castellón de la Plana and the Diputación de Castellón, with support from the Generalitat Valenciana through the Consorci de Museos and the Institut Valencià de Cultura.
