The police chief, popularly known by his second surname, concludes a professional journey that began far from the uniform, working as a waiter, helping on farms, assembling furniture, painting houses, and as a delivery person. In 1988, he began his career as a local police officer in Valladolid, starting a life marked by risk and a vocation to help.
“"They were people who helped others and who ran towards the danger that scared others to protect them."
Among his most memorable interventions, he highlights assisting in a home birth. Throughout his career, he has been decorated on several occasions in Castelló for saving lives in cases of heart attacks or accidents. He has also experienced moments of great tension, such as an assault with a knife in 2020, where he feared for his life.
In 1995, he joined the Local Police of Castelló, where he found many good professionals and experienced significant moments. During the pandemic, he questioned some orders from the Government and the Generalitat, considering them illegal, a stance that, he claims, was later ratified by the Constitutional Court.
“"When you go out on patrol, carry the Penal Code in your right hand and the Bible in your left, because not everything that is legal is just."
In 2021, at 60 years old, he assumed the position of head of the Local Police of Sant Joan de Moró. Although he admits that his true vocation has always been street work, in this municipality he has valued the closeness with residents. With his retirement, he hands over the position to his colleague, wishing him the best in his new responsibility.
The police chief assures that he has always tried to be faithful to his oath to “serve and protect the citizen,” fighting against injustices and seeking solutions based on peace and respect. A father of five children and awaiting his fifth grandchild, he faces a new stage in life, but makes it clear that his commitment does not end with retirement.
