Yesterday afternoon hosted the last major bullfighting event of the patron saint festivities in Almassora, dedicated to Santa Quitèria. The event featured 15 bulls from renowned ranches, reinforcing the town's status as a key location for 'bous al carrer' (bulls in the street) celebrations.
This celebration was made possible through the sponsorship and involvement of approximately 80 local 'peñas' and 'collas' (social clubs), alongside the support of the Almassora City Council. The mayor, María Tormo, and the Councillor for Festivities, Arturo Soler, were joined by various officials, including the regional secretary of Transparency, Jorge Bellver; the mayor of Burriana, Jorge Monferrer; and the councillor from València, Carlos Mundina.
In addition to the bull event, yesterday also featured another highlight of the Santa Quitèria festivities: the traditional 'tombet de bou'. This local specialty dish brought together a multitude of residents in a festive atmosphere.
